Lätt att skrota detta alster. Vissa grupper skulle koka i hop någon psykedelisk smörja år 1967. Mick Jagger vann tydligen tvisten om att få tota i hop, denna till största delen, flummiga smörja. Brian Jones (musiker hos Stones från starten till döden tog honom 1969 drunknad i sin swimmingpol) motsatte sig att denna skiva skulle spelas in. "Vi ska inte härma The Beatles" sade han och ville i stället hålla sig till Stones rötter och grundididé . Hursomhelst så finns ett par starka nummer på detta album nämligen, '2000 Man' och '2000 Light Years From Home' Jag vill nämna 'On With The Show' också. Den som vill ha något Stones-aktigt på skiva ska inte välja denna. En idog Stones-diggare har självfallet denna i sin samling...

There's a lot going on here--try comparing the wayward Eastern atmospheres of "Gomper" to anything on BEGGAR'S BANQUET, and marvel that you're listening to the same band. The fact that Jagger and Richards could still come up with the unimpeachably charming "She's a Rainbow"--pop psychedelia at its finest--and a fair stab at psychedelic R&B in "The Lantern," while attempting to negotiate the band's rocky passage through Flower Power is a tribute to their vision, their perseverance, and their drugs of choice.
